Most of Franklin's dual meets so far this season have been pretty light work. Saturday's home meet against Anderson and Olivet continued the trend.
The Grizzlies dominated both ends of the double dual, with the men defeating the Ravens 211-48 and Olivet 228-17. The women were equally dominant, beating those teams by respective scores of 238-49 and 251-21.
In addition to sweeping the 200-yard medley and freestyle relays, the Griz also won all but three individual events on the day.
Sam Hittel paced the men with three individual first-place finishes, taking the 50 and 100 freestyle as well as the 200 individual medley.
Isaac Layton (200 free, 100 butterfly) and
Phoenix Simons (1- and 3-meter diving) were double winners, while
Bryson Howe (1,000 free),
Will Johnson (100 backstroke),
Nick Coy (100 breaststroke),
Jaciel Torres (50 back) and
Zachary Jackson-Blaine (50 breast) also picked up victories.
On the women's side,
Petal Sloan (50 and 100 fly, 50 back) and
Kat Lundy (100 breast, 500 free, 200 IM) each claimed three events, while
Celeste Hollis (100 and 1,000 free) and
Alexis Fleming (1- and 3-meter diving) took two apiece. Also hitting the wall first in their races were
Jyllian Antle (200 free),
Macie McQuinn (100 back) and
Carly Houchin (50 free).
The Grizzlies are off for the holidays and will resume the season Jan. 9 and 10 in the Colonel Classic at Centre.
