FRANKLIN, Ind. – Franklin College's annual #GRIZTuesday event on Tuesday, Dec. 2, marked another record-setting 24-hour giving day, with generous donors contributing a remarkable $224,030 — surpassing last year's total by more than $20,000. Proceeds from this event will go directly toward supporting the College's athletic programs.
"We are very grateful to everyone who came together from across our Franklin College community to help enhance the experience of our student-athletes," said Franklin College President Kerry N. Prather. "Our alumni, friends and corporate partners continue to demonstrate remarkable loyalty and pride in supporting the Grizzlies."
"Our success year after year is a direct result of the outpouring of support from our alumni, friends, campus colleagues and the wider community," said Nora Brems, vice president for institutional advancement. "We are sincerely grateful to everyone who was inspired to invest in our student-athletes this GRIZTuesday."
The College leveraged a variety of communication platforms, including social media and college-owned channels, to promote #GRIZTuesday and rally support.
Franklin College Vice President Andrew A. Hendricks highlighted the significant impact of #GRIZTuesday on the student-athletes' college career.
"At Franklin, academics are at the heart of our mission, but athletics greatly enrich the experience," Hendricks noted. "The generosity of donors helps student-athletes strive for high achievement and access unique leadership and teamwork opportunities."
This year Elwood Staffing and Miller Transportation served as the lead sponsors for #GRIZTuesday.
