LOUISVILLE, KY. — The Franklin men's cross country team got a crack at the course that will host the NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet on Nov. 15.

The Grizzlies finished fifth out of 25 teams on the 8-kilometer course at the Louisville Cross Country Classic, led by a 14th-place individual finish from sophomore William Hirsch (26.45.30).

Senior Jonah Decker, who completed his race in 27:22.20, crossed second for the team and 32nd overall, earning himself a personal best. Teammate Sam Wilson crossed the line not too much later in 34th (27:25.30). Fellow senior Riley Devening was 37th with a time of 27:40.50, while senior Andre Davis rounded out the scoring, securing 57th in a time of 28:14.70 — a personal record by 40 seconds.

Franklin will be back in action in a couple of Saturdays (Oct. 18) for the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble. Start time for the first race is set for 10:30 a.m.
