Franklin women's volleyball kept its recent hot streak going with a convincing 25-18, 25-10, 25-17 sweep at Anderson on Friday night. It's the third consecutive victory and seventh in the last nine matches for the Grizzlies (12-9), who are off to their first 2-0 start in HCAC play since 2019.

"What a way to kick off Homecoming weekend!" Franklin coach Dillon Taylor said. "I couldn't be more proud of this group. Our energy was amazing, the effort was all out, and they are truly putting everyone out there on notice that they're ready to play."

The Grizzlies never trailed in the first set, jumping out to a 6-2 lead on back-to-back service aces from Kaitlyn Lavy and never looking back from there. The Ravens trimmed a 21-13 deficit to 22-18 at one point, but a Hope Moring kill and two Brionna Linkel aces slammed the door shut.

In set two, Franklin scored eight consecutive points to pull out to a 10-3 lead; Moring and Kaitlyn Lowes each had a pair of kills during that spurt. Three kills from Lavy in a four-point mini-run later in the set stretched the margin all the way out to 22-8.

Franklin led wire to wire in the third after scoring the first five points. Anderson got as close as 11-8 before the Grizzlies created some breathing room with a 4-0 run that Moring started with a kill and ended with an ace. A Mireily Colomba kill and a Raven error accounted for the last two points of the match.

Moring paced the Grizzly attack with 11 kills, adding 12 assists and eight digs to narrowly miss a triple-double.

"Hope was, once again, locked in all over the court, where she continues to dominate," Taylor said. "She's cementing this season as one of the best in recent history."

Lowes and Lavy added nine kills apiece as Franklin had just 13 attacking errors on the night and one in the first set, where it hit .500. Linkel had 19 assists and four of the team's 12 aces.

"It all started at the service line," Taylor said. "When you can execute a scout as well as we did, you're going to have a lot of amazing things happen."

The Grizzlies play at Spalding next Tuesday (Oct. 14) before returning home to face Hanover on Oct. 17.
