FRANKLIN, Ind. - Franklin men's basketball hit triple digits for the first time this season and claimed their third straight win with in dominant fashion on Wednesday (Jan. 8) night with a 108-64 triumph against the Manchester Spartans.Â

Franklin (9-4, 5-1 HCAC) used a 17-3 run to start off the game and never looked back, leading the Spartans (6-7, 1-5 HCAC) by as many as 46 before the final horn. It marked the biggest scoring output for the Grizzlies since Dec. 3, 2022, when Franklin dropped 111 points on Defiance in a win.

How it Happened
Franklin used a balanced scoring attack and strong defense from the outset to open up their massive lead, holding Manchester to just two field goals in the game's opening six minutes. Manchester was able to get the deficit down to 12 after a mini run made it 34-22 with five minutes to go in the half. The Grizzlies responded with an 8-0 run out of a timeout to push the lead to 20 and begin what would turn into a rout.

- Franklin kept the Spartains at 39.3% (22-for-56) shooting on the night.
- Efficient shot selections lead to a high shooting percentage for Franklin, as they knocked down 56.8% (42-for-74) of their attempts and buried 17 threes on the night.
- Cody Samples led the team with 14 points and was joined in double figures by Cooper Matthews and Malachi Archey with 11 points and Ryan Bostic with 10 points.
- Lynn King led the team in rebounds with six.
- Franklin outscored Manchester off of turnovers 28-4.
- The Grizzlies dominated the Spartans in the paint outscoring Manchester 46-18 down low. Â
