ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Franklin College women's tennis team picked up their first win of the year on Saturday (Sept. 14) afternoon, taking a 5-2 win over Concordia Ann Arbor.
The Grizzlies swept all three doubles matches to collect the first point of the day.
Ailyn Hendricks and
Sydney Carson were 6-3 winners at No. 1 doubles, followed by a 7-5 win at No. 2 doubles and the freshman team of
Mattie Foster and
Lydia Jordan were 6-2 winners at No. 3 doubles.
Hendricks picked up a second point with a 7-5, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and Atchison added a second win at No. 4 singles with a 6-1, 7-5 win.
Alyssa Harmon was a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 5 singles and Foster was a 6-2, 6-1 winner from the six position.
The Grizzlies continue their weekend trip to Michigan with two matches on Sunday (Sept. 15), when they take on Albion at 10:00 a.m. and Olivet at 2:00 p.m.
