RECAP | Panthers Best Grizzlies Under the Lights on Tuesday

FRANKLIN – The Franklin men's soccer team wrapped up a three-game homestand on Tuesday (Sept. 10) night, taking on the Principia Panthers at Faught Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, the Grizzlies (0-4-1) succumbed to a pair of second half goals and the Panthers (1-2-1) held on to take a 2-0 victory.

The game stayed scoreless until the 68th minute, when a Principia long ball deflected off a Franklin player toward the home end and onto an attacking foot, where the Panthers' Effenberg Joya slotted it home. Principia added an insurance goal on a free kick in the 79th minute to cap the scoring.

Shot attempts were 14-5 in the Panthers' favor. Ian Rowe made his fifth straight start to begin the year and stopped seven shots in the Franklin net.

The Grizzlies are on the road on Sunday (Sept. 15), heading to Decorah, Iowa for a meeting with Luther College. Kick-off is set for 2:00 p.m. eastern time.
