LEXINGTON, Ky. – Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) play began for the Franklin women's lacrosse team on Saturday (Apr. 6), with the Grizzlies taking on the Transylvania Pioneers.
Franklin (1-5, 0-1 HCLC) dropped their matchup to the defending conference champions, with the Pioneers (4-6, 2-0 HCLC) winning 24-0.
Jamie Schlieper had 14 saves in goal for Franklin and tied with
Maddie Cary and
Jillian Schlieper for the team lead with a pair of ground balls. Cary and
Jillian Schlieper each forced a pair of turnovers with the latter leading the Grizzlies with three draw controls.
