FRANKLIN – Conference play rolled on for the Franklin women's lacrosse team on Wednesday (Apr. 10) night, with the Grizzlies welcoming the Anderson Ravens to Faught Stadium for the first of three straight league games at home.
Bella Frye netted a hat trick to lead the Franklin (1-6, 0-2 HCLC) offense, but the Ravens (4-6, 1-0 HCLC) left town winners, 14-5.
How it Happened
Franklin held the lead midway through the opening quarter with goals from Frye and
Jillian Schlieper that made it 2-1 FC with eight minutes to go in the period. Two Anderson goals followed before Frye got her second with 1:58 to play to make it 3-3, but the Ravens potted two more goals in the final 1:03 to take a 5-3 lead into the second.
Briggs got on the board with 4:32 to go in the first half and Frye netted her third at the 6:40 mark of the third quarter. But Franklin's offense struggled to generate chances over the final three periods, with Anderson out-shooting the hosts 23-13 over the final 45 minutes.
