FRANKLIN – The Franklin baseball team opened the final week of the regular season with a non-conference matchup against the Webster Gorloks on Tuesday (Apr. 30) afternoon at John P. McDowell Field.
The Grizzlies (18-18) dropped their second meeting with the Gorloks (19-17) this season, with Webster taking the game by a 13-4 score.
Franklin got RBIs from
Adam Taylor,
Garrett DeHart and
Anthony Smith, but a four-run Webster fourth inning put the home side behind for the rest of the afternoon. Franklin cut the Webster lead to 8-4 in the seventh before a five-run Gorlok ninth put the game out of reach.
DeHart, Taylor and
Colby Reed had two hits each for the home side.
Brayden Marrow (0-1) got the start and tossed three innings with two hits allowed and a pair of strikeouts.
