ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – The Franklin women's lacrosse team opened the 2024 campaign on Saturday (Mar. 2) afternoon, taking on Augustana College in the team's season opener.
The Grizzlies (0-1) dropped their opener, as the Vikings (1-1) jumped out to an early lead and pulled away in the fourth quarter to win 19-8.
Augie opened the game on a 5-1 win before Franklin rallied to get back within two at 7-5 early in the second quarter. But it was as close as the Griz would get the rest of the afternoon and the Vikings closed out the game by taking the final period 6-1 to stretch the lead to double figures.
