FRANKLIN – The Franklin baseball team put the finishing touches on a weekend sweep of the Trine Thunder with an 18-3 win on Sunday (Mar. 17) afternoon at John P. McDowell Field.
The Grizzlies (9-4) put up 10 runs in the second inning and pounded Thunder (7-6) pitching for 20 hits to complete the sweep.
How it Happened
Adam Taylor broke the scoreless draw with an RBI single in the second and
Andrew Wallace followed with a three-run home run to make it 4-0.
Tysen Lipscomb continued his torrid weekend at the plate with a three-run double later in the inning.
Luke Willmann,
Garrett DeHart and Wallace all notched RBIs before the inning ended that saw the hosts hold a 10-0 lead.
Sean Sullivan belted his fourth home run of the weekend in the third and Lipscomb smacked a solo shot in the fourth, capping a massive weekend at the plate for both players.

-Lipscomb paced the offense with five runs knocked in, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored.
-Sullivan went 2-for-4 with three driven in and his home run moves him within five of the program record of 38 career home runs, held by Ryan Bixler.

-Willmann went 3-for-5 with a run knocked in and two runs scored.

Dylan Sprong (2-2) picked up the win after tossing five scoreless innings with four hits allowed, three walks and three strikeouts.
