Football Rolls Out 2024 Schedule

2/23/2024 10:03:00 AM

FRANKLIN – The 2024 Franklin College football schedule was announced on Friday (Feb. 23) morning and will feature the annual 10-game season with five of those contests set to be played at beautiful Faught Stadium this fall.

The schedule will also look a little different in 2024, with four non-conference games featured opposed six Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) games after Defiance's departure from the league.

"We are excited to get back out in Faught Stadium this fall," Head coach Alan Hensell said. "Playing four new non-conference opponents will be an exciting opportunity for our team and fans."

The regular season kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 7 with the Grizzlies taking a trip to Ada, Ohio for a meeting with Ohio Northern. It marks the first regular season meeting between the two programs and just the second all-time, with the last coming in the 2015 NCAA playoffs.

The following week takes the Grizzlies to Michigan for a showdown against Hope College. It will be the seventh meeting all-time between the two and the first since 1981 with Franklin holding a 5-0-1 record against the Flying Dutchmen.

Faught Stadium will host its first football game of the year on Sept. 21 with the Bulldogs of Adrian College making the trip south. Franklin is 1-2 all-time against Adrian, registering a win in their last meeting back in 2012 with a 42-10 playoff victory on the road. The final non-conference game of the year will see Franklin host Ohio Wesleyan on Sept. 28 for homecoming weekend.

HCAC play kicks off on the Oct. 5 with the Griz heading to Rose-Hulman. Following a bye week, Franklin makes a trip to Manchester on Oct. 19 and the Grizzlies wrap up the road portion of their schedule against Bluffton on Nov. 9.

Conference home games will see Franklin welcome defending league champion Mt. St. Joseph for Alumni Day on Oct. 26, Anderson for Faculty and Staff Appreciation Day on Nov. 2 and Hanover on Nov. 16 for Senior Day and the annual Victory Bell Game.

All kick-offs are set for 1:30 p.m. with the exception of the Hope game, which will begin at 1:00 p.m.
