CINCINNATI, Ohio – Thanks to a career outing from their leading scorer and a dominant second half at both ends of the floor, the Franklin women's basketball team claimed an 85-73 win over Alma College on Saturday (Nov. 23) afternoon.

Jordan Coon finished with personal bests at 33 points and nine rebounds, as Franklin (4-1) erased a double-digit first half deficit in the final game of the Lauren Hill Classic.
How it Happened
Franklin's offense sputtered out of the gate and the Scots took advantage, with Alma opening up a 14-4 lead with 4:38 to go in the first quarter. Alma's lead grew to as many as 12 points late in the first half, but Franklin would pull within seven at 41-34 at halftime.
Alma held a 47-37 lead with 8:40 to play in the third quarter but the big Franklin run was just around the corner. The Grizzlies needed four minutes to wipe out the deficit and take the lead, ripping off a 14-2 run and jumping in front with a
Brooke Grinstead three to make it 51-49. Coon was the dominant force in the third quarter, as she put up 15 in the period as Franklin took a 59-55 lead into the fourth quarter.
Nine straight Franklin points early in the fourth put the Grizzlies up by double figures and gave them a comfortable lead the rest of the way.
