Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Franklin College men's basketball team tipped off the regular season on Friday (Nov. 15) night, facing off with #14-ranked Nebraska Wesleyan in the opening game of the Bill Merris Tournament, hosted by Illinois College.
The Grizzlies (0-1) threw everything they had at the nationally-ranked Prairie Wolves (2-1), erasing a double-digit lead in the second half and having a look to force overtime at the buzzer. But
Ryan Bostic's game-tying attempt from deep was just off the mark, and Franklin's upset bid fell short in a 65-62 defeat.
A complete recap will be posted when stats are finalized and available.
Franklin is back at it on Saturday (Nov. 16) in the consolation game of the Bill Merris Tournament, and will face either host Illinois College or Concordia Wisconsin at 2:00 p.m. eastern time.
