Box Score JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - The Franklin College men's basketball team tipped off the regular season on Friday (Nov. 15) night, facing off with #14-ranked Nebraska Wesleyan in the opening game of the Bill Merris Tournament, hosted by Illinois College. 

The Grizzlies (0-1) threw everything they had at the nationally-ranked Prairie Wolves (2-1), erasing a double-digit lead in the second half and having a look to force overtime at the buzzer. But Ryan Bostic's game-tying attempt from deep was just off the mark, and Franklin's upset bid fell short in a 65-62 defeat.

Franklin is back at it on Saturday (Nov. 16) in the consolation game of the Bill Merris Tournament, and will face either host Illinois College or Concordia Wisconsin at 2:00 p.m. eastern time.
