RECAP | Rowe's Brilliance In Net Gives Grizzlies Clean Sheet Against Pioneers

FRANKLIN – With fifth year goalkeeper Ian Rowe putting up a career-best performance, the Franklin men's soccer team collected their first point of conference play on Wednesday (Oct. 9) night.

Rowe backstopped the Grizzlies (0-10-2, 0-2-1 HCAC) to a 0-0 draw with Transylvania (4-4-2, 1-1-1 HCAC), turning back a career-high 13 shots for the sixth clean sheet of his career. Rowe needed to be at the top of his game, as Transylvania finished the night with 27 total shot attempts.

But the Franklin defense put in a collective effort to keep the Pioneers off the scoreboard and when a shot did get through, Rowe had an answer for their guests. His best save of the night came in the 74th minute on a scalding low shot that was destined for the bottom left corner before Rowe's out-stretched hand sent it aside.

It marked the third double-digit save game of the season for the Greenwood, Ind.-native eclipsing his previous career high of 11 saves set earlier this season in a draw with Illinois Tech. Lucas Periera led the Franklin attack with two shot attempts, both of which ended up on target.
