GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Franklin men's swimming and diving team faced off with in-state rival DePauw on Friday and Saturday (Jan. 12-13) in a two-day dual meet between the sides.
 
The Grizzlies went on to win 11 of the 19 events over two days, but DePauw's depth proved to be the difference as the Tigers held on to win 184-157.
 
Earning first place finishes for the Grizzlies over the weekend were:
-JC Chappell in the 200 breaststroke (2:19.44)
-Kosmo Wojack in the 200 fly (1:57.93), 200 IM (2:01.94) and 400 IM (4:18.64)
-Zachary Jackson-Blaine in the 50 free (21.33)
-Jack Burke in the 100 fly (53.96), 100 backstroke (54.59) and 200 backstroke (2:03.01)
-Cameron Baker on the 1-meter (250.25) and 3-meter boards (253.90)
-The 400 medley relay of Burke, Chappell, Wojack and Jackson-Blaine (3:36.78)
 
Top-three finishes for the weekend included:
-Chappell taking second in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.60)
-Jackson-Blaine finishing second in the 100 free (49.30)
-Wojack placing third in the 200 free (1:49.23)
-Will Johnson placing third in the 200 backstroke (2:06.04)
-Luke Becker finishing third in the 200 fly (2:07.49) and 100 backstroke (56.81)
 
Franklin is back in action next Friday (Jan. 19) night, hosting Rose-Hulman on Senior Night at Franklin Middle School. The opening race is set for 6:00 p.m.
