FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin volleyball team lined up on the Spurlock Center floor for the first time in 2023 on Tuesday (Sept. 5) night, taking on the DePauw Tigers in a non-conference matchup.
The Grizzlies (2-2) couldn't overcome the Tigers (1-3) in the matchup, dropping a three-set matchup 26-24, 25-21, 25-22.
Franklin got a team-high 15 kills from sophomore Kaityln Lavy with
McKenzie Schroeder and
Hope Moring just missing double digits with nine and eight kills, respectively.
Moring had a team-high 17 assists while freshman
Brionna Linkel handed out 14 helpers.
Makalyn Miller led the back line with 14 digs while Schroeder and
Alyssa Zemlyak tied for the team lead with three blocks.
Franklin heads back out on the road on Saturday (Sept. 9) when they head to Kentucky for the Berea Invitational. The Grizzlies will take on host Berea at 10:30 a.m. before facing Baldwin Wallace in the afternoon.
