RECAP | Lacrosse Wins First Ever Post-Season Game, Glodowski Sets New Season & Career Scoring Records

FRANKLIN – Faught Stadium played host to a pair of program firsts and saw two program records broken on Wednesday (May 3) night when the Franklin women's lacrosse team welcomed Anderson to town for the first home post-season game in the team's history.

Franklin (9-5) made their first home playoff game count, as they also grabbed the first post-season win in program history with a 16-10 victory over the Ravens (3-9) to advance to the conference championship game this weekend.

The star of the night was senior Anya Glodowski, who potted three goals and handed out six assists for nine points, breaking Lexi Ingram's program record for points in a season (65) and career points (126) with her showing.

How it Happened
Baleigh Riddle scored 21 seconds into the game for Franklin but the Ravens tied things up less than a minute later. The rest of the first quarter belonged to the home side, with Franklin out-scoring the Ravens 5-1 over the final 13:19 to take a 6-2 lead after one quarter. The Grizzlies kept the field tilted in their favor in the second, taking the biggest lead of the day just ahead of halftime with another Riddle goal that made it 11-4 at the half.

Anderson cut the deficit down to five late in the third quarter before a goal from Lora Adkins late in the period made it 13-7 Franklin with 15 minutes to go. The two sides played to a draw in the final quarter, with a Victoria Simmons goal with three minutes to go putting the exclamation point on the win.
