FRANKLIN – The Franklin women's lacrosse team faced off with the Transylvania Pioneers on Saturday (Apr. 29) afternoon at Faught Stadium with the regular season conference title up for grabs.

The Grizzlies (8-5, 5-1 HCLC) were overwhelmed by the Pioneers (10-4, 6-0 HCLC), as Transy claimed a 27-4 win to secure the conference regular season championship. 

The Pioneers scored the game's first seven goals before Victoria Simmons snapped the streak with a goal at the 6:57 mark of the first quarter. But the Pioneer attack showed no signs of slowing down all afternoon and the defense limited Franklin to one goal in each quarter. 

Anya Glodowski had two goals and led the Grizzlies with six shots and four shots on goal. Lora Adkins also scored a goal for Franklin in the match.

The Grizzlies open up post-season play on Wednesday (May. 3) against the Anderson Ravens in the program's first ever conference tournament home game. The start time will be announced in the coming days.
