RECAP | Women's Lacrosse Batters Lions, Wins Third Straight

CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Franklin women's lacrosse made it three wins in a row on Saturday (Apr. 15) with a dominant showing against the Mount St. Joseph Lions.
 
The Grizzlies (5-4, 2-0 HCLC) raced out to an early lead and held the Lions (1-8, 0-3 HCLC) off the board until the final quarter, winning the game 17-2 to remain perfect in conference play.
 
How it Happened
It was all Grizzlies from the opening draw, as Franklin opened the scoring 1:24 into the game with a Lora Adkins goal. Franklin potted a whopping nine first quarter goals and the rout was on as Franklin added three more goals in the second and four in the third before the Lions got on the board early in the fourth quarter. Victoria Simmons punctuated the win with the Grizzlies' final goal of the game with eight minutes to play.
 
Inside the Box Score
-Six different players notched multi-goal games with Anya Glodowski, Adkins, Simmons and Baleigh Riddle all scoring three goals.
-Glodowski led the team with seven points, handing out a team-high four assists.
-Simmons had a team-high 12 shot attempts and seven shots on goal.
-Bella Frye and Jillian Schlieper had two gals each.
-Mia Turnbaugh and Delaney McCafferty tied for the team lead with four ground balls each.
-Frye led the Griz with six draw controls.
-Riley Rice stopped four shots in goal for the Grizzlies.
