FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin women's lacrosse team welcomed the Augustana Vikings to Faught Stadium on Thursday (Mar. 30) night for the team's final home non-conference game of the year.
The Grizzlies (2-4) were done in with big first a third quarters from the Vikings (5-3), with Augstana leaving town a 20-10 winner.
How it Happened
The two sides traded goals in the early going and a goal from
Victoria Simmons with 7:48 to go in the first gave the Griz a 3-2 lead. But six straight goals from the Vikings followed, putting them in control of the matchup heading into quarter number two.
Three straight goals from
Baleigh Riddle over a six-minute stretch got Franklin within a pair at 9-7, but the Vikings answered with a 4-1 run to close out the first half and take a 13-8 lead into the break. Augustana conceded just two Griz goals over the final two quarters to seal the win.
