CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Franklin women's lacrosse team returned to non-conference action on Saturday (Mar. 25) afternoon, taking on the Thomas More Saints.
The Grizzlies (2-3) got multi-goal games from three different players, but they couldn't capitalize on a fast start in an 18-8 loss to the Saints (3-7).
How it Happened
After two Saints goals in a 23 second frame early in the game, Franklin got on the scoreboard with 9:21 to go in the first quarter on a
Victoria Simmons goal. Franklin took their first lead of the day with goals from Simmons,
Jillian Schlieper and
Bella Frye over a 1:54 span and Simmons completed the hat trick with 41 left in the first frame to give FC a 5-4 lead after one quarter.
Simmons added a fourth goal in the second but the period belonged to the Saints, as their potted seven goals to take an 11-6 lead into the break. Thomas More carried that momentum into the second half, with Franklin getting one goal in each of the final two periods.

-Shots were 38-21 in Thomas More's favor, with Simmons leading the Griz with eight shots and seven shots on goal.
