CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Franklin men's basketball team wrapped up their regular season road schedule on Tuesday (Feb. 14) night, taking on the Mount St. Joseph Lions.
Jack Hendricks netted a career-high 18 points for the Grizzlies (13-11, 9-8 HCAC) and was one of three players to finish the night in double figures. But the game was decided over the final 93 seconds that saw the Grizzlies go scoreless and the Lions (8-16, 7-10 HCAC) pounced to win 76-68.
How it Happened
Down by as many as 12 points in the first half, the Grizzlies closed out the opening half with a furious rally that trimmed the deficit at the half down to three at 30-27. Franklin grabbed their first lead since the first possession of the night with 12:16 to play when a layup from
Jalen Love made it 47-46 and Franklin held their largest lead of the night at 62-56 with 4:23 to go in the contest.
The Mount rallied to take the lead back with less than two minutes to play before a layup from
Jacob Deere put the Griz back in front 68-67 with 1:33 to play. But the Grizzlies couldn't add to that lead before the final horn and the Lions scored the game's final nine points.
