RECAP | Grizzlies Put on Scoring Display in Blowout of Earlham

FRANKLIN – The Franklin women's basketball team turned in a dominant performance on Saturday (Dec. 9) afternoon, leading from start to finish in a 101-62 victory over Earlham on Saturday.

The Grizzlies (5-2, 2-1 HCAC) never trailed the Quakers (1-5, 0-3 HCAC), surpassing 100 points in a game for the first time in 18 seasons. Four Franklin players recorded double digit point totals in the game and the team shot just under 50% from the floor to earn their fifth win in six contests.

How it Happened
A 13-0 Franklin run to open the game set the stage for the beatdown, with the Griz lead increasing to 30-10 by the end of the first quarter. The two teams played even in the second quarter, and Franklin took a 47-27 lead into the half. The Grizzly defense played a major role in the big halftime lead, with the Quakers shooting just 25.9% (7-for-27) from the field in the opening half.

Franklin connected on more than half of their field goal attempts in each of the final two periods, with the defense frustrating the Quakers at every turn. An Abby Moore free throw in the final minutes pushed Franklin to the 100-point total for the first time in 18 seasons.
