RECAP | Men's Basketball Drops Non-Conference Finale

FRANKLIN – The Franklin men's basketball team closed out their non-conference schedule on Saturday, falling to DePauw by seven at home. The Grizzlies fought back from a 16-point deficit to make it a 4-point game with less than three minutes remaining but were unable to complete the comeback.

Junior Ryan Bostic dropped a career-high 22 points on nine-of-seventeen shooting. He previously scored 21 versus Hanover last season.

How it happened
A back-and-forth first half saw nine lead changes with neither team unable to lead by more than four points. Franklin's tough defense held the Tigers to two-of-ten behind the arc. Lynn King notched a lay up to make it a one-point game with 21 seconds before the break but DePauw sunk a pair of free throws in the final seconds to take a 35-32 lead.

Leading by six, the Tigers utilized a 13-4 run over six minutes of play to jump out to a 60-44 lead, their largest of the game. Lebron Bennie-Powell halted DePauw's momentum with a corner three on the assist from Bostic.
With under four minutes to play, Bostic knocked back a three which sparked a 9-0 run from Franklin to pull with four with 2:53 remaining. Franklin was unable to close the gap as the Tigers sealed the win with five made free throws in the closing minute.
