FRANKLIN – Playing in front of their home fans for the first time in three weeks, the Franklin women's basketball team turned in a dominant showing on Wednesday (Nov. 29) night in an 89-47 win over Eureka College.
Taylor Cooney led the Grizzlies (3-1) with 14 points and all 17 players that logged minutes found their way into the scorebook. The Grizzlies never trailed the Red Devils (2-3), moving to 2-0 on their home floor this season.
How it Happened
Franklin took the lead six seconds into the game, knocking down their first eight shot attempts of the night. That kick-started a 30-point first quarter and set the stage for a 44-19 halftime lead. The Grizzlies continued to build on their lead as the second half wore on, leading by as many as 45 late in the ball game.

-Franklin shot 52.3% (34-for-65) from the floor, knocking down a season-high 11 three-pointers.

Kate Breeden led the Grizzlies with eight rebounds, followed by six from
Maddie Barnes and
Payton Seay. The Grizzlies held a 51-36 edge in the rebounding battle.

Brooke Grinstead had a team-high four assists, with Franklin assisting on 22 of their 34 field goals.
