CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Franklin football team hit the road on Saturday (Oct. 28) afternoon for a meeting with the Mount St. Joseph Lions.
The Grizzlies (3-5, 3-2 HCAC) fell into an early hole and the Lions (7-1, 5-0 HCAC) never let up. When the final whistle sounded, the Lions emerged winners by a 55-0 score.
Junior
Garrett Cora led the Franklin offense with 75 rushing yards on 17 attempts. Three different ball carriers finished with at least 65 yards, with
Zane Downing running for 72 and
Kam Jennings picking up 68 on the ground.
Kai Ross went 9-for-18 through the air for 70 yards and junior
Jack Henninger made his first career appearance, going 1-for-3 for 23 yards.
Dylan McKinney led the team with 57 yards on three catches.
De'Marreia Stephens and
DeMarion Newell tied for the team lead with seven tackles.
Hayden Kermode had a team-high five solo tackled and recorded Franklin's lone sack of the day.
The Grizzlies are back at home next Saturday (Nov. 4), hosting Manchester on Senior Day at Faught Stadium. The opening kick is set for 1:30 p.m.
