Box Score FRANKLIN – The Franklin men's soccer team continued a three-game homestand on Wednesday (Oct. 18) night, hosting the Rose-Hulman Engineers.
The Grizzlies (3-8-4, 2-3-2 HCAC) gave one of the top teams in the league a battle, but the Engineers (9-4-2, 5-1-1 HCAC) proved to be too much to handle in the game with Rose winning 3-0.
The two sides combined for just two shots on target in the opening half, but the Engineers made the most of their attempt with the game's first goal in the 25
th minute. Rose upped the pressure in the final 45 minutes, getting two insurance goals with minutes apart in the 59
th and 67
th minutes, respectively.
Shots for the night were 15-5 in the Engineers' favor with Franklin getting at least one attempt from five different players.
Ian Rowe got the start in goal for the Grizzlies, stopping five Engineer attempts on the night.
Franklin closes out the home portion of their schedule on Saturday (Oct. 21) night, hosting Earlham College at 8:30 p.m. The program will also celebrate Senior Day before the opening kick.
