FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin men's basketball team welcomed conference leading Anderson to the Spurlock Center on Saturday (Jan. 7) afternoon as the Griz looked to get in the win column for the first time in 2023.
Three Franklin (7-6, 3-3 HCAC) players finished the day in double figures, but the home side was done in by a tough afternoon shooting the ball as the Ravens (8-5, 6-0 HCAC) left town with a 72-61 win.
How it Happened
Eight straight Raven points opened the contest but Franklin was able to get back within three at 11-8 with 12:49 to go in the opening half after a
Carter Crowe bucket. It was as close as the home side would get in the first half, as shooting struggles from all over the floor allowed the Ravens to take a 37-25 lead into the locker room.
Franklin's defense kept the Ravens in check in the second half and the Grizzlies clawed back to within seven points on three different occasions, the final coming with 10 minutes to go and a 52-45 Anderson lead. But that would be as close as the hosts would get the rest of the way, as Anderson's lead grew back to double digits shortly after and stayed there the rest of the day.
