RECAP | Jarrett Records Career Assist 2,000, Grizzlies Drop Battle with Pomeroys

FRANKLIN, Ind. – Senior setter Billie Jarrett joined rarified air on Tuesday (Sept. 20) night, becoming the latest Grizzly to record 2,000 career assists as part of Franklin's matchup with St. Mary of the Woods.

The Speedway, Ind.-native finished the night with 38 assists, becoming the first Grizzly since Ashley Bazier in 2015 to reach 2,000 for her career. Franklin (5-7) would fall in four sets to the Pomeroys (14-0) in four sets, 25-20, 15-25, 25-21, 25-22.

How it Happened
Down by a set, the Grizzlies turned to their offense to get back to even in game two. Franklin hit .321 while holding the Pomeroys to -.029 on the attack to run away with the second set and pull even.

Both of the final two sets were tightly contested, but a late comeback bid from the Grizzlies in each game fell just short.

Inside the Box Score
-Sophomore Miranda Wilson was on the receiving end of most of Jarrett's assists, leading the Grizzlies with a season-high 17 kills and .324 hitting percentage.
-Junior middle Chloe Holder led Franklin's attackers with a .391 attacking percentage, finishing with 10 kills and only one error on 23 attempts. Holder also led the team with five total blocks.
-Campbell Clark topped the Griz defense with 14 digs, followed by Jarrett with 11.
-The Grizzlies ended the night with 13 aces, five coming off Jarrett's right arm.
