RECAP | Duo Nets First Career Goals as Men's Soccer Closes Out Non-Conference Slate

BEREA, Ky. – The Franklin men's soccer team wrapped up non-conference play on Saturday (Sept. 17) afternoon, taking on the Berea Mountaineers to close out a two-game road trip.

The Grizzlies (0-6) saw a pair of players record their first career goals, but were done in by a late comeback from Berea (4-1-2) in a 3-2 defeat.

How it Happened
The Grizzlies opened the scoring in the 11th minute when junior outside back Htoo Ray Moo snuck a shot inside the left post for his first career tally and a 1-0 Franklin lead. Franklin doubled their lead late in the first half when a foul in the area led to a penalty kick that freshman Enzo De Marco stuck home to double the lead.

The lead would hold until a four-minute stretch late in the second half that saw the Mountaineers net all three of their goals. The Grizzlies had two looks in the final five minutes at the equalizer but both Moo and Dany Escamilla had their tying bids turned back.

Inside the Box Score
-Shots were 23-13 in Berea's favor for the day.
-Junior goalkeeper Ian Rowe turned away eight shots in goal for Franklin.
-Eddy Yousak led the Grizzlies with three shot attempts while Moo's two shots on target were a team high.
