WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Franklin College volleyball team was in search of their third straight win on Tuesday (Sept. 13) night, taking on the Wilmington Quakers in the second match of a six-game road trip.
The Grizzlies (4-3) made quick work of the Quakers (3-8); sweeping the in-region match and picking up their 11th straight win in the all-time series.
How it Happened
Game one saw the Griz race out to a 7-1 lead but the Quakers would bounce back to draw the game even at 15. Three straight Franklin points put the Grizzlies back in the diver's seat, and they would use that quick run to claim the first game 25-19.
Another fast start sent Franklin on their way in game two, as they took five of the first six points before blowing game two open. The Grizzlies led set two by as many as 14 points en route to a 25-16 victory. Franklin closed out the third set strong, turning a tight game into a comfortable victory by out-scoring the Quakers 12-5 to close out the sweep.

-Kaitlyn Lavy led the way for the Franklin offense with 13 kills, turning in a season-high .303 hitting percentage.
-Makalyn Miller put down eight kills and led Grizzly attackers with a .333 attacking percentage.
-Billie Jarrett topped the team with 27 assists.
-Campbell Clark had a game-high 17 digs from the libero spot and handed out a season-high seven assists.
-Chloe Holder's four aces led all players on the night.
-Franklin continued a streak of consecutive sets won against Wilmington to 15 straight. The Grizzlies have no conceded a set to Wilmington since their 2016 meeting.

Franklin hits the road on Friday and Saturday (Sept. 16-17) for the Manchester Volleyball Invitational. The Grizzlies will face Governor's State and St. Mary's to open the weekend, with first serve set for 6:00 p.m. on night one.
