HANOVER, Ind. – The Franklin College women's basketball team tipped off a three-game road trip on Wednesday (Feb. 9) night, traveling to Collier Arena for a matchup with the Hanover Panthers.

The Grizzlies (7-13, 5-8 HCAC) gave the host Panthers (11-8, 8-6 HCAC) all they could handle, but a fourth quarter cold stretch proved to be the deciding factor as Hanover earned a 66-60 comeback win.

How it Happened
The game's first big run belonged to the home side, with Hanover closing out the first quarter on an 18-5 run to take a 24-12 lead into the second quarter. The Grizzlies shook off a tough first quarter and started to mount a charge late in the first half, closing the second quarter on an 8-2 run to trim the lead to 35-31 at the break.

Hanover maintained a slim lead until a Bayleigh Torrance jumper tied things up at 44 with 1:49 to go in the third. With time ticking down in the period, Kayla Bruner knocked down a long triple that sent Franklin into the fourth with a 49-46 lead. The Grizzlies held a 54-49 lead with eight minutes to go when disaster struck in the form of a four-minute scoreless stretch and a 13-0 Hanover run. The Panthers were able to hold the Grizzlies at bay the rest of the night.
