CARMEL, Ind. - For the first time in his playing career, Franklin College forward
Carter Crowe has been named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Player of the Week.
Crowe was brilliant for the Grizzlies across two wins last week, averaging 21.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game while shooting 62.5% (15-for-24) from the field and 64.7% (11-for-17) from behind the three-point line as Franklin bested Centre and Defiance.
On Tuesday night against Centre, Crowe led the Grizzlies with 13 points and 11 rebounds in the first double-double of his career in a 74-52 win over the Colonels. In Saturday's conference opener at Defiance, Crowe lit it up for a career-high 30 points and matched the program record for threes in a game with eight as Franklin pounded the Yellow Jackets 111-77 to move to 4-3 on the year.
The Greenwood, Ind.-native is averaging 18.0 points and 5.7 rebounds per game on 62.3% shooting and 54.8% shooting from three on the year.
Crowe and the Grizzlies are back in action on Saturday (Dec. 10) afternoon, hosting the Manchester Spartans in their conference home opener at 3:00 p.m.
