FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin men's swimming & diving team welcomed the Hanover Panthers to town on Saturday (Dec. 3) afternoon for their final home dual meet of the calendar year.
The Grizzlies claimed first place in all 13 events and moved to 5-0 in duals this year with a 167-31 win over the Panthers.
Eight different Franklin swimmers walked away with event wins and three claimed the top spot in multiple events. Senior diver
Gauge Creech dominated on the one-meter board, taking the first session with 197.91 points and the second with 293.17 points. In the pool, senior
Kyle Haflich won both the 200 free (1:50.84) and the 100 backstroke (57.90) and freshman
Tyler Wood took first in the 1650 free (17:59.91) and 500 free (5:05.51).
Other Grizzlies claiming wins were
John Hasquin in the 50 free (23.20),
Vincent Fletcher in the 400 IM (4:34.94),
Jack Burke in the 100 butterfly (52.42),
Logan Parker in the 100 free (49.32) and
Campbell Coyle in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.79). Both relay teams were victorious with the 400 medley relay checking in at 3:44.54 and the 200 free relay in 1:39.44.
The Grizzlies close out the 2022 calendar year next Saturday (Dec. 10) with a road dual matchup against the Anderson Ravens. Start time is set for 1:00 p.m.
