RECAP | Storm Snap Grizzlies' Winning Streak at Four Games

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Franklin women's basketball team had their four-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday (Dec. 20) night, falling to the Simpson College Storm in the final day of the Music City Classic.

The Grizzlies (5-4) struggled to knock down shots over the final 30 minutes of action after a sizzling first quarter. Simpson (3-7) pulled away over the final 30 minutes, taking the game 86-58.

How it Happened
The Grizzlies and Storm both came out chucking, knocking down at least half of their shot attempts in the opening 10 minutes. The opening period saw five lead changes and one tie with the Grizzlies taking a 24-22 lead into the second thanks to a late bucket from Sarah O'Day, capping a period that saw the Griz go 11-for-22 from the field.

Franklin's offense would dry up over the next two periods, in which the Griz recorded just four field goals in each quarter. At the other end of the floor, the Storm continued to hum along on offense, taking a 10-point lead at the half and stretching it throughout the final half of play.

-Freshman Kate Breeden nearly recorded her first career double figure outing, setting a new season high with nine points.
