ANDERSON, Ind. – The Franklin men's swimming and diving team hit the road for their final dual meet of the calendar year on Saturday (Dec. 10) afternoon, taking on the Anderson Ravens in a head-to-head conference matchup.
The Grizzlies moved to 5-0-1 in dual matchups this year, winning 11 of the 12 events to take a 159-47 decision over the Ravens and head into the new year still unbeaten.
Two Griz swimmers claimed two individual event wins on the day. Senior
Vincent Fletcher was the first after he picked up wins in both the 200 free (1:50.27) and the 100 free (49.26). Junior
Kosmo Wojack joined him later in the day after he took first in the 200 IM (2:03.12) and 200 breaststroke (2:14.15).
In other race action,
Tyler Wood started off individual action by winning the 1650 free in 17:15.36 with
Parker Montgomery following with a win in the 50 free in 23.33. Also picking up wins were
Jack Burke in the 200 fly (2:10.16),
Logan Parker in the 200 backstroke (2:02.50) and
Adrian Armstrong in the 500 free (5:14.24).
Both relay teams were also victorious, starting with the 200 medley relay of Wood, Armstrong, Montgomery and Kyler Haflich taking the top spot in 1:41.69. Burke, Fletcher,
Nick Coy and
John Hasquin closed out the day by winning the 200 free relay in 1:30.30.
On the one-meter board, junior Cam Baker finished the day with 343.70 points, good for a runner-up finish.
Franklin is out of competition until the new year, when they get back in the pool for the Centre Colonel Classic on Jan. 6-7 in Danville, Ky.
