RECAP | Season-High 16 Threes Power Grizzlies Past Centre

FRANKLIN – The Franklin men's basketball team put together a dominant showing in their final tune-up before conference play, rolling to a 74-52 win over the Centre Colonels on Tuesday (Nov. 29) night in the Spurlock Center. 

Franklin (3-3) knocked down a season-high 16 three pointers and held the Colonels (2-4) to 34.5% shooting on the night. Four Franklin players finished the night in double figures, as the team spread the scoring wealth all night long. 

How it Happened
Seven straight Grizzly points early in the game put the hosts ahead for good and led to a quality back-and-forth battle with the Colonels early in the first half. Franklin began to put some distance between the two sides with an 8-2 run and closed out the first half strong, out-scoring the Colonels 21-13 over the final eight minutes to take a 41-30 lead into the break. 

Franklin put the game away with a 17-6 run to start the second half and led by as many as 24 points before the final horn sounded.

-The Grizzlies shot 40.6% (26-for-64) from the floor on the night.
-Carter Crowe recorded the first double-double of the season for FC, leading the team with 13 points and 10 rebounds. 
-Cody Samples added 12 points and a team-high five assists.
-Ryan Bostic added 11 points off the bench and Jalen Love chipped in with 10 in a reserve role. Franklin's bench held a 33-16 advantage in scoring on the night.
-Rebounds were 41-36 in the Grizzlies' favor.
-Franklin won the turnover battle by a 14-8 count.
-The Grizzlies moved the ball around well all night, assisting on 20 of their 26 made field goals.

The Grizzlies hit the road for their conference opener on Saturday (Dec. 3) afternoon, heading to Ohio to take on the Defiance Yellow Jackets. Tip-off is set for 3:00 p.m.
