RECAP | Men's Swimming & Diving Sweeps Three Duals Over Weekend

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin men's swimming & diving team had a busy weekend with three dual matches in less than 24 hours, hosting Transylvania on Friday (Nov. 11) night before taking on both Centre and Bluffton on Saturday (Nov. 12).
 
The Grizzly men made it a clean sweep of the weekend, taking down the Pioneers 155-85 on night one before besting Centre 155-143 and Bluffton 238-7.
 
Franklin vs. Transylvania
The Grizzlies claimed wins in 11 of the night's 13 events to best the Pioneers in their first conference dual of the season. A trio of Grizzlies earned multiple event wins, starting with Campbell Coyle taking both the 50 free (21.98) and the 100 free (48.58). Jack Burke topped the field in the 100 backstroke (53.10) and placed first in the 200 free for the first time in his career with a time of 1:48.04. Senior Gauge Creech took both diving sessions on the 1-meter board, finishing with an 11-dive score of 313.95.
 
Also picking up wins were Kosmo Wojack in the 400 IM (4:20.64), Adrian Armstrong in the 100 butterfly (54.80) and Tyler Wood in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.53). The Grizzlies also took both relay events, claiming the 200 medley relay in 1:39.76 and the 400 freestyle relay in 3:15.41.
 
Franklin vs. Bluffton & Centre
For the second straight day, the Griz men claimed 11 event victories with all of Saturday's winners repeating from Friday night. Burke was a force in all three of his events, taking the top spot in the 100 back (53.07), 200 back (1:58.75) and 200 IM (2:01.88). Wood claimed a pair of victories after taking the 1000 free (10:18.08) and the 200 breaststroke (2:15.30).
 
Wojack won both the 100 butterfly (52.07) and the 200 butterfly (1:57.18) and Coyle was victorious in the 200 freestyle (1:46.40). The 200 freestyle relay of Coyle, John Hasquin, Luke Becker and Logan Parker took first in 1:28.26.
 
On the boards, Creech won both 11-dive events, racking up 313.60 points on the 3-meter board and 275.65 points on the 1-meter board.
 
The Grizzlies are back in action next on Nov. 18-20, traveling to Crawfordsville, Ind. to take part in the Gail Pebworth Invitational, hosted by Wabash College.
