RECAP | Grizzlies Pound Anderson on Homecoming Weekend

FRANKLIN, Ind. – It was a homecoming game that was never in doubt, as the Franklin football team treated a massive Faught Stadium crowd to a blowout 54-14 win over the Anderson Ravens on Saturday (Oct. 8) afternoon.

Franklin (2-3, 2-0 HCAC) racked up over 600 yards of total offense and held the Ravens (0-5, 0-2 HCAC) to under 200 yards of offense for the afternoon. Kai Ross tossed five touchdown passes and four Franklin ball carriers recorded at least 50 yards on the ground.

How it Happened
The Grizzlies were in business just three plays into the game when Kahari Jackson picked off a pass near midfield. Three plays later, Ross found Garrett Cora out of the backfield for a 14-yard touchdown and the early lead. After forcing an Anderson three-and-out, Ross connected on a deep post to Dylan McKinney for a 56-yard score to make it a 14-0 game just 4:17 in.

Ross and McKinney hooked up for their second score of the day early in the second quarter, this one coming from 22 yards out to stretch the lead to 21-0. Anderson answered with a touchdown but the Grizzlies countered and put together a 13-play drive capped with a one-yard score from Cam Johnson. Derek Baldin closed the half by booting a career-long 48-yard field goal to make it 31-7 at the break.

Franklin padded their lead on the first two drives of the second half with Ross finding Spencer Wright from four yards out and Dejon Winburn on a 43-yard pass. Kam Jennings capped the scoring midway through the fourth quarter with a one-yard plunge.
