Box Score BLUFFTON, Ohio – The Franklin volleyball team closed out their week of competition on Friday (Oct. 7) night, taking on the Bluffton Beavers in their first Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) road match of the year.
The Grizzlies (7-11, 1-2 HCAC) recorded a higher hitting percentage and finished with more digs than the Beavers (14-6, 2-1 HCAC) on the night. But behind the service line was where the game was decided as Bluffton held a 15-3 edge in service aces to win in three sets 25-21, 25-22, 25-19.
Sophomore
Miranda Wilson led all players with 10 kills on the night, followed by seven from freshman
Hope Moring. Franklin hit .190 on the night to .172 for Bluffton.
Billie Jarrett handed out 24 assists on the night for the Grizzlies and
Campbell Clark topped the back line with 12 digs.
Trinity Schroeder had a pair of solo blocks and
Kamzi Gross accounted for all three of Franklin's service aces.
Franklin returns to action at home on Wednesday (Oct. 12) night, taking on the Rose-Hulman Engineers. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m.
