TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Franklin College football team hit the road for a matchup of conference unbeatens on Saturday (Oct. 22) afternoon, taking on the Engineers of Rose-Hulman.
Franklin (3-4, 3-1 HCAC) saw their three-game winning streak come to an end, with the Engineers (4-3, 4-0 HCAC) winning the game 49-0.
Garrett Cora topped the offense with 99 yards on 24 carries and
Jarrett Gibson hauled in three passes to lead the receiving corps. Franklin struggled to move the ball on the Engineer defense, with Rose ending the game with a 401-193 advantage in total yards.
Kody Wilkerson led the FC defense with 11 tackles and
Isaac Lawrence's 2.5 tackles for loss was tops on the team. Lawrence and
Shay McRath each had a sack for the Griz defense.
The Grizzlies look to bounce back next Saturday (Oct. 29) in their final road game of the year, when they take on the Manchester Spartans. Kick-off is set for 1:30 p.m.
