NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Franklin College volleyball team closed out a two-game road trip on Thursday (Oct. 20) night, taking on the Manchester Spartans in a crucial conference matchup.
The Grizzlies (8-14, 2-5 HCAC) rallied from down a set on two occasions to push the contest to a deciding tie-breaker. But the Spartans (13-13, 2-4 HCAC) held off Franklin's comeback bid to win 25-14, 16-25, 25-14, 21-25, 15-9.
Miranda Wilson had a team-high 12 kills for the Grizzlies, who hit .066 on the night with 39 kills as a team.
Alyssa Zemlyak and
Makalyn Miller tied for second on the team with seven kills each.
Billie Jarrett led all players with 30 assists and tied with
Campbell Clark for the team lead with three aces. Clark and Kamzi Grozz had 12 digs each to lead the way and
Trinity Schroeder finished with a team-high seven blocks.
Franklin opens the final week of the regular season on Wednesday (Oct. 26) night, hosting the Hanover Panthers for Senior Night. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. with the senior night festivities for Jarrett,
Alivia Brown and Savannah VanHoy set to take place before the game.
