Box Score GREENCASTLE, Ind. – The Franklin men's soccer team hit the road on Wednesday (Sept. 8) night for an in-state showdown with the DePauw Tigers.
Freshman Jon Moore recorded the first multi-goal game of his career with a tally in both halves, but the Grizzlies (0-4) dropped an eventful contest to the Tigers (4-0) by a 3-2 score.
How it Happened
The Grizzlies controlled play in the early going and their persistence paid off in the 24th minute when Moore took a pass from Van Duh Lian and beat DePauw keeper Alex Lundin for the opening tally. That lead would hold until the final five minutes of the half, when the Tigers got the equalizer to send the teams into the break all tied up.
DePauw took the lead early in the second half, but Moore would bring Franklin back to even in the 68th minute. Htoo Ray Moo found Moore in the middle of the pitch and he swung wide left with the ball before ripping a shot into the top left corner of the net to knot things up.
Less than five minutes later, the Tigers would get the eventual winner and hold Franklin's attack in check down the stretch.
