Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College men's soccer team welcomed the University of St. Francis to Faught Stadium on a rainy Saturday (Sept. 4) afternoon for their 2021 fall home opener.
On a day where offensive chances were at a premium, the two sides played most of the afternoon in the midfield. The deciding play came midway through the first half with a goal from the Cougars (1-2-1) that held up as they bested Franklin (0-2) by a 1-0 score.
How it Happened
The game's lone goal came on the only shot on target in the first half. A St. Francis crossing attempt made its way into the box and just past of the outstretched arms of Franklin goalkeeper Elliott Clark to Elmar Martinez, who stuck a shot home in the 22nd minute.

Franklin's three best looks at the equalizer came in a two-minute stretch early in the half, but attempts from Eddy Yousak, Noah Harris and Dany Escamilla all sailed wide of the cage.
