Box Score NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. – The Franklin men's soccer team kicked off Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play on Wednesday (Sept. 29) night, taking on the Manchester Spartans at Spartan Stadium.
The Grizzlies (2-6, 0-1 HCAC) got a late goal from Jon Moore but had their comeback attempt shutdown as Manchester (4-4-1, 1-0 HCAC) held on for a 2-1 victory.
How it Happened
The home side got the jump in the 20th minute and held the Grizzlies without a shot on target in the opening half of play. Manchester padded their lead in the 74th minute with a goal off a corner kick, but the Grizzlies would make things interesting late when Moore drilled home a feed from Eddy Yousak for his fifth of the year.
It ended up being the last shot attempt of the night for either side as Manchester was able to run out the clock on a comeback.

-Moore was the Grizzlies' most dangerous player all night, finishing with three shot attempts and Franklin's lone goal of the night.
-Elliott Clark turned back eight Manchester shot attempts on the night. The hosts out-shot Franklin 17-4 overall and 10-1 in shots on target.
-One Grizzly made his career debut in the match, with Daniel Bravo-Gomez coming off the bench for the first nine minutes of action of his career.
