Box Score FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin College women's soccer team looked to keep their winning streak alive on Saturday (Mar. 27) with a home match against the Anderson Ravens.
Sophomore Lilly Haines recorded her first career multi-goal game, providing all the offense as Franklin (4-2) blanked the Ravens (3-3) by a 2-0 count.
How it Happened
Haines put the Grizzlies in front on the game's second shot, getting a foot on a ball that deflected off Mackenzie Wilhelm and hammering it into the cage in the 20th minute. That ended up being all the scoring in the opening half, with the two sides combining for just three shots on target.
After scoring a gritty goal to open the scoring, Haines put on a show with her 61st minute tally to give Franklin a two goal lead. She grabbed a pass from Hannah Warstler and faked out a couple Anderson defenders before firing a right-footed shot inside the left post.
