Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Franklin College men's soccer team opened a two-game road trip on Tuesday (Mar. 16) afternoon with a matchup against the Hanover College Panthers.
Trouble struck early for the Grizzlies (0-5) as Hanover (4-1) got the jump on the scoreboard less than five minutes into the game. Three goals against in the first 10 minutes proved to be too big of a hole to climb out of as Hanover took the game by a 6-0 score.
Hanover's Josh Hughes netted a hat trick in the game's first 10 minutes, a stretch that put things out of reach. Franklin managed a trio of shots on the afternoon and freshman goalkeeper Ian Rowe turned back six shots in his second career start, recording a new career-high for saves in a match.
The Grizzlies will look to bounce back on Saturday (Mar. 20) afternoon, when they travel to Richmond, Ind. for a matchup with the Earlham Quakers. Kick-off is set for 3:30 p.m.
