RECAP | Clark Shines in Goal for Grizzlies Against Rose-Hulman

Box Score

FRANKLIN, Ind. – The Franklin men's soccer team was back at Faught Stadium on Wednesday (Mar. 10) night with a matchup against the Rose-Hulman Engineers on tap at Faught Stadium.

The Grizzlies (0-3) hung tough with one of the league's perennial powerhouses, but a goal on a broken play with 11 minutes to play proved to be the difference as Rose-Hulman (3-0) claimed a 1-0 win.

How it Happened
The Engineers controlled the pace of play in the opening half, attempting 10 shots and putting seven shots on target. But each time the Engineers had a look at the goal, junior Elliott Clark was there to shut the door and the first half ended in a scoreless draw.

The final 45 saw the Engineers put just 2 shots on target, but the one that counted came in the 80th minute on a broken play that saw Jacob Dirienzo all alone in front for a header that beat Clark for the game's lone goal. The Grizzlies had a chance in the dying seconds but a corner kick from Angel Tapia didn't produce a scoring chance.

Inside the Box Score
-Clark was fantastic in net, stopping eight shots and producing three highlight reel stops in the first half.
-The Engineers attempted 10 corners to three for the Grizzlies.
